Housing and Trees Can, and Should, Coexist

PFTP is a part of a Shade Equity Coalition, along with many other groups in the city passionate about trees. Through the leadership from 350PDX and Trees for Life Oregon, we recently signed on to a letter to our governor regarding how housing and trees should be considered together and that housing without trees isn’t the right solution for our city. Read our thoughts and consider getting involved in the way that feels right for you!

We have seen the stark results of living in areas with no, or few, trees - especially as our climate continues to get warmer. Adding housing that doesn’t also integrate trees and other green infrastructure is short sided. It is our honor to be a part of this group working to protect trees AND people.
