Fruit Preservation Class at Parkrose Orchard!

Join Portland Fruit Tree Project and Expert Preservationists at our Parkrose Orchard (behind the community center) to learn the "why", the "how" and all of the "musts" (along with tips and tricks!) to do safe canning at home.

Hands-on preserve making and best practices will be covered, and attendees will take home 2 jars of preserves made from fruit harvested from the urban canopy - the rest of the jars will go to serve other PFTP community programs and fundraisers.

This is a sliding scale donation based event for Portland Fruit Tree Project, as we seek to bring educational content to the public while covering our costs, please consider the "green bottle" graphic, included in the event photos, when making your ticketing selection.: )

Fruit varieties are TBD based on the weather, and harvest dependent (contact Kathryn@portlandfruit.org to bring your own): 

  • September 20th - Possibly Plums!

  • October 11th - Apple and maybe a Bounty of Berries!

  • November 8th - Quince-Time and Perhaps Persimmon!
