YOU MUST bring your own Kayak, SUP, or canoe, and always bring your Personal Floatation Devices to this event or register for the very limited seating in the Big Canoes! We will launch from Willamette Park and Harvest blackberry, hear updates from our friends at the Human Access Project about Pamplin Media's mismanagement of our river... and HAP's progress in fixing it.

• An informational pdf/print out about native plants & the benefits of gardening with them
• A print out of a list of resources & native plant nurseries
• The first person to sign up, with a friend, will take home a kokedama made by me during the workshop

Order Plants Online between March 2 - 30 (or all until pop-up locations fill up): Browse profiles of 100+ native plant species from the comfort of your couch. Filter by sun, moisture, and more to find the right plant for the right place in your yard. Some species may sell out quickly, so we recommend getting your order in early! At checkout, select your pick-up location, date and time.
Pick-up Pre-ordered Plants on 4/25 or 4/26 at Parkrose Community Church and shop the Portland Fruit Tree Project Sale of Fruiting Plants, Vines and Bushes, and our Bee Houses, Jam and Jelly at the same time!

Please use the pre-sale form for all of your spring pollinator, soil health, and pest prevention needs (well, not all of them, but quite a few). Your purchase support providing these same services and supplies for community orchard and garden spaces! Please plan to pick up at our offices (Leaven Community Center 5431 NE 20th Ave) AND ask our team all of your questions on 3/15 between 1pm and 3pm. Can't make it then? Join Portland Fruit Tree Project and our favorite Local Bee Expert, Stephen Anderson, to learn about Mason Bees, and build a home to host and harvest them on your property. Participants will receive instruction and all materials to Bee successful, and can help themselves to complementary Cider during the event. Light snacks will be provided. Just $35! Contact us if you need assistance affording the fee. : )

Join Portland Fruit Tree Project and Oregon State University Expert Preservationist Danita Macy at the Food Innovation Center to learn the "why", the "how" and all of the "musts" (along with tips and tricks!) to do safe canning at home.
Join Portland Fruit Tree Project and local mason bee expert Stephen Anderson in a 1.5 to 2 hour hands-on class harvesting your mason bee cocoons and preparing them for overwintering. This class is for those with their own bee houses, although we will also have a few demo houses on hand.
Stephen will walk us through best practices and common issues with caring for bees in their sleepy months. Bring your bee house, a pocket knife, some old toothbrushes and a couple of thin plastic 1 or 2-cup containers.
This is an opportunity to BYO harvested fruit to press, we will also have LOTS on hand from Portland Fruit Tree Project harvests!
PLEASE BRING CONTAINERS for cider if you would like to take some home, we will have limited containers for purchase.
Join us for a Free Cider Press days as part of our ongoing work parties at Gabriel Orchard in SW Portland! Thanks to Portland Parks and Rec for supporting this community event!

Hands-on jam making and best practices will be covered, and attendees will take home 2 jars each from each of the classes of jam made from fruit harvested from the urban canopy - the rest of the jars will go to serve other PFTP community programs and fundraisers.
Join Portland Fruit Tree Project and Bauman's Cider to watch cider pressing in person at their Portland Cidery, located at 930 SE Oak Street. BYO container to take 1 gallon of apple juice home, or purchase a fermentation kit to carry away that comes with a 1 gallon glass jug, fermenting packet and tools and instructions for aging hard cider.
