Private harvest events organized in partnership with volunteer groups.
Partner harvest Program
Partner Harvests are specifically tailored for groups that want to provide a valuable volunteer service to the community, engage in a meaningful group activity, and support the unique work of the Portland Fruit Tree Project. Examples of partner organizations may include corporate groups looking for a team-building experience, a group of families, participants in a nonprofit organization, and any other group of people that’s interested!
Here’s how it works:
The partner organization is responsible for signing up participants, and coordinating transportation to and from the site. (Groups will usually drive their own vehicles/bicycles). We work with you to find a time and location that works well for your group. Daytime and weekday harvests are preferred, but we will do our best to accommodate your group. Harvests usually last between 2.5 and 3 hours.
PFTP Staff will lead the group in harvesting fruit from trees at a residential property in the Portland area. PFTP coordinates all of the site logistics, harvest leadership & guidance, and transportation of fruit and harvesting equipment.
Partner groups are asked to provide a financial contribution to help cover the cost of the event, and to support Portland Fruit Tree Project. We ask for this donation on a sliding scale basis to accommodate for organizations of varying budgets: $500 contribution is suggested for corporate groups, $50 is the minimum. Please contact us if your group is unable to meet the minimum requested donation.
